Realme uses Oppo’s SuperVOOC technology. Both companies have partnerships in research and development. The GT Neo5 will integrate batteries with two cells, each receiving 10V for 12 A. Thus, a standard smartphone can be charged in just 9 minutes, and reach 50% power in just 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
The launch of the Realme GT Neo5 will be released soon. Oppo demonstrated the technology in February, at the WMC 2022. Oppo has not yet launched a device that integrates SuperVOOC 240 W, and Realme could be the first to launch a smartphone equipped with this fast charging.
In addition to other realme brands, OnePlus also partnered with Oppo to merge parts of its research and development department two years ago. Therefore, this technology is potentially present in the upcoming smartphones coming from these three brands. The Realme GT Neo5 is expected to launch in the first quarter of this year with versions of 240 W and 150 W. It features Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a 6.7-inch OLED display at 144Hz, 16 GBRAM and up to 512 GB of storage. But the product still has to see the total charging time of this smartphone’s battery, which will depend on its battery capacity.
