The main feature of the ZTE Axon 20 5G is that it is the first commercially available smartphone with an under-display selfie camera, therefore no notch-hole selfie camera.
ZTE Axon 20 5G Review
Is this a reason to buy the ZTE Axon 20 5G? Not really, unless you really want to be among the first to try this innovation and think that other smartphones will suit your needs. Far from being a groundbreaking selfie camera, the ZTE Axon 20 5G is packed with features that many are looking for in a new mid-range smartphone.

It's not for everyone - The Axon 20 5G is a very large phone with a 6.92-inch screen, and as you'd expect, this can make it a difficult device for everyday use for those who prefer it. a smaller phone.n detect.
The screen itself is a pleasant experience - you don't get QHD resolution here, but image quality is still strong - and we found it to be good for watching movies and other content, unlike some smaller smartphones.
The rear camera isn't as revolutionary as the Axon 20 5G's front-facing selfie shooter, but it still does well with a sensor that's the same price as many other phones. Just don't expect the images to compete with high-end smartphones.
There's a little less power here than some after ZTE opted for a weaker Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset to power the device, and we found the battery life to be decent as well.
Overall, the ZTE Axon 20 5G is well built for a certain type of person, and we recommend buying this phone only after weighing the negatives in our review. If you're looking for a big phone that includes a new kind of selfie camera, this could be a great choice for your next smartphone.
ZTE Axon 20 5G Price
The ZTE Axon 20 5G was first announced in China in 2020, but soon after the company revealed that the phone would be coming to other markets, including the US and the UK. We haven't heard if the ZTE Axon 20 5G will be available in Australia, but we'll update this review when we find out more.
The phone costs $9 / £19 (about AU$750), which is in the same price range as the Google Pixel with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and the company does not seem to sell other models in it. scope
The ZTE Axon 20 5G is a very large smartphone and if you are looking for a device with a large screen, you can get it with this option because it has a 6.92-inch Full HD screen. We'll cover this in more detail below, but the phone's design feels premium for the price. It has a glass back, which is not always available even on more expensive Android phones. The back is a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but feels taller to the touch and has metallic edges that also give it a refined feel. Your phone has many color options; it's available in black, gold, blue, purple and yellow, although we used the black version of the phone you see in this review. The has a camera module on the back of the handset that sticks out from the back, meaning it doesn't fit comfortably on a desk without wobble a bit. It's also a large camera case, so it won't be comfortable for everyone.
The device also has ZTE and Axon 5G branding on the back, which doesn't add much to the look of the phone. On the right side of the phone is the power button and volume rocker, which can sometimes be difficult to reach when using one hand. You'll probably want to use the phone with two hands at most, as it can be a bit heavy and measures 172.1 x 77.9 x 8mm. It's not too heavy for its size at 198g, but it can be a bit difficult to control with smaller hands. Speaker is also on the bottom of the handset, and we found it did a good job but didn't produce great sound. If you listen to a lot of audio directly from the speaker, this may not be right for you.
